Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will be rated as a 77 overall in Madden 25, the 18th-best rating among quarterbacks in the game, EA Sports announced today.
Murray is also the 10th-highest rated player on the Cardinals, even behind kicker Matt Prater (78). Murray did finish Madden 24 as a 77 overall as well.
All-Pro safety Budda Baker topped the Cardinals’ ratings at 90 overall with James Conner at an 83 overall. Safety Jalen Thompson (82), tight end Trey McBride (82), guard Will Hernandez (80), wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (79), cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (79) and wide receiver Zay Jones (79) were the other players ahead of Murray.

These are the top-20 quarterbacks in Madden 25, which releases on Aug. 16:
Murray is a scrambler archetype in the game and does have over a 90 rating in speed (92), acceleration (93), agility (90), ball-carrier vision (93) and change of direction (90). In terms of throwing, Murray has a 90 throw power, 86 short-throw accuracy, 85 throw on the run, 84 throw under pressure, 84 play action, 83 deep-throw accuracy and 78 medium-throw accuracy. Perhaps the rating that will slow Murray down the most in the game is his 66 awareness.
Fans were not happy with his overall rating.

Madden went on a disrespectful run with these ratings…
CJ Stroud: 81
Jordan Love: 81
Baker Mayfield: 79
Geno Smith: 78
Kyler Murray: 77
Trevor Lawrence: 77
Caleb Williams: 76— Joel Moran (@joelvmoran) August 2, 2024
I understand the Cardinals just came off a 4-13 season, but the launch ratings for Madden 25 are legitimately disrespectful and show a lack of actual ball knowledge.

83 OVR – James Conner
82 OVR – Jalen Thompson…— Kyler Burd (@AZCard_BurdsEye) August 2, 2024
Murray missed the first nine weeks of last season while recovering from an ACL tear. In the eight games he played in, Murray threw for 1,799 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions, while rushing for 244 yards and three touchdowns.
After once being viewed as an MVP candidate during the 2021 season, Murray will look to show everyone that he can return to that form while fully healthy this season.
“The sense of urgency (to win) is definitely there,” Murray told reporters earlier this week. “You never know when the game is going to be taken away from you, you never know how long you are going to be playing. My goal is to be the best. That’s been my dream since I was 4 years old, to be a quarterback in the NFL and win Super Bowls. That’s what I strive to do every single day.”
