Lamar Jackson addresses Ravens parting ways with John Harbaugh

One of the most surprising developments of the NFL offseason was the Baltimore Ravens parting ways with longtime head coach John Harbaugh. Even though the Ravens missed the playoffs following an 8-9 season, Harbaugh's overall record of 193-124 in 18 seasons seemed strong enough to keep him in place.

The Ravens felt it was time for a change, however, and now Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson is speaking out about the move.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Jackson opened up about the moment and said he was "shocked" when he learned about Harbaugh's dismissal, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

Jackson also talked about whether or not it was the right thing to do for the franchise.

"I feel like Mr. Steve (Bisciotti, owner) did what was best for the team," Jackson said.

Was Jackson really shocked by the move? That we'll never really know. He's not a newbie, and he's not going to give the press insight into anything that may raise some eyebrows. But, what's clear is that Jackson is falling in line with the Ravens and going with the narrative that they did what was best for the team. Harbaugh, meanwhile, got landed on his feet as the head coach of the New York Giants, and that franchise is overjoyed to have him.
