Ravens legend explains how Lamar Jackson must copy Michael Jordan

For years, Lamar Jackson has been, undeniably, one of the most impactful offensive forces in the National Football League.

However, there have always been concerns about whether his playing style can lead to success in the playoffs and, more importantly, be sustainable over time.

Jackson has dealt with some injuries in the past, and now that he's looking at a major contract extension, that should definitely be a factor.

That's why Baltimore Ravens legend Qadry Ismail believes it's time Jackson channels his inner Michael Jordan and adjusts his game to a new stage in his career.

Lamar Jackson must be more like Michael Jordan

"He’s the greatest dual-threat quarterback to ever play the game. So, why would I want to take a strength away from the greatest to ever do it? Did Michael Jordan set the tone early in his career by dominating at the rim? Yes. Did he change up from a longevity aspect of things and do his fadeaway jumper? Yes. Did he come back to dominating at the rim when he needed to? Absolutely," Ismail told Bolavip.

Jackson owns pretty much every single rushing-related quarterback record.

He's drawn heavy criticism for his lack of postseason success, though it hasn't been entirely on him.

Now, with Jesse Minter as his new head coach and Declan Doyle calling the shots on offense, the upcoming season could be a vindication of his game and an indictment of John Harbaugh.

Whatever the case, availability will always be the best ability, and Jackson must make sure to stay on the field.

While he can still make plays with his legs, extend plays and make defenders miss left and right, his body can only withstand so much wear and tear.

And after improving as a pocket passer in the three years he spent with Todd Monken, he might want to take a more traditional approach to the position going forward.
