Lane Johnson wasn't afraid to call out Kevin Patullo after Eagles loss to Giants

There is plenty to be frustrated about after the Philadelphia Eagles lost a second game in the last four days. Even worse, the public comments from the team are starting to get louder.

After the Eagles got smacked in the 34-17 loss to the New York Giants, starting right tackle and future Hall of Famer Lane Johnson spoke with the media in the locker room. Johnson had plenty to say about offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo's play-calling.

“We were winning [the first four games] but not dominating.”

Johnson went on to say that the offense was too predictable. He mentioned there would be spurts where the offense would be clicking, but the defense figured out what the offense was doing and stopped it. Johnson liked how the offense ran more RPOs to make life harder on defenses.

Rough night for the Eagles

Jalen Hurts finished the game with a respectable 283 yards and two total touchdowns, but threw the fourth quarter interception in Giants territory that ended any hope of a comeback. Dallas Goedert was his leading receiver with nine receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown.

Once again in the second half, the running game was abandoned with Barkley ending the game with 58 yards after having 60 in the first half. They finished with 73 yards as a team, another week finishing with less than 100 yards rushing.

The big difference between this game and the rest of the season was the turnovers. Philly had more than one turnover in the game for the first time, thanks to a Hurts interception and an A.J. Dillon fumble.

In the second half, the offense struggled with 20 yards on the first three drives. They did produce a 51-yard and 69-yard drive, both of which ended in turnovers.

Ultimately, all the offensive struggles have to fall on Patullo since he is running and calling the offense. He gets away too quickly from the running game when it's working. The passing game is improving, but Hurts still struggles to find open receivers when he has a good pocket.

With the team facing a mini bye, could any kind of changes be on the horizon?
