The Las Vegas Raiders, with their formidable roster, are gearing up for a strong comeback to the playoffs in 2024. However, they are not without their concerns. The team's success hinges on factors such as coaching, quarterback performance, and the unpredictable nature of injuries. Yet, with these aspects under control, the Raiders are poised for a promising season.
That's tough, though, especially when injuries cannot be controlled. Last season, the Raiders didn't have any insane injuries, but they had some key players banged up, like Maxx Crosby and even last year's rookie tight end Michael Mayer.
Mayer missed the last three games of the season with a toe injury. On Tuesday, the Raiders held a media availability session with the players and media, and Mayer explained how he's feeling now.
"Oh yeah. I'm 100% now, I feel great," Mayer told everyone. "I've got no soreness; I've got no residual effects from anything that happened. So, good offseason of rehab; I was kind of back and forth here and home, and I feel great. I feel the best I felt; I'm sitting at 255 right now. Probably the fastest I've been, faster than last year I'll tell you that. So, I'm feeling good."
#Raiders TE Michael Mayer: "I'm 100% now. I feel great. i have no soreness. So, good offseason of rehab. I feel great. I feel the best I have felt. The fastest I have been. I'm feeling good."

The Raiders drafted Brock Bowers, sure, but the Raiders need both tight ends for their offense to not just be successful, but to thrive. They will play a ton of 12 personnel, which will require both tight ends on the field at the same time. Mayer is still TE1 and him feeling his absolute best is not just a plus, it's a game-changer for the Raiders and the potential of the offense.
If he, as well as everyone else, can stay as healthy as possible - the offense is going to be elite.
