When you think of historic uniforms -- ones that don't need to be messed with in the NFL, there are a few that immediately come to mind. The Las Vegas Raiders are one of them, along with teams like the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers, and you can even throw teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and the Chicago Bears on there.
But, every once in a while a subtle change is needed, even if it's just to the helmet or pants. The Las Vegas Raiders encountered a time where that was the case, and it's the 2024 season that we will see it.
We all know that earlier this offseason, one of the greatest Raiders ever, if not the greatest Raider ever, the original Raider, Jim Otto, passed away. He was greatly loved, and still is, and was revered as one of the greatest players this game has ever seen.
So, to honor him, the Raiders are putting a sticker on their helmet.
The Las Vegas Raiders have added a decal to the back of their helmets in honor of late Hall of Fame center Jim Otto, who passed away in May at the age of 86: https://t.co/klMvHLsPKD pic.twitter.com/x3jEdo3yTn

On one side of the helmet remains the shield with AL inside of it, for Al Davis, and on the other stands a shield that has 00 inside of it, for Otto.
This is a true testimonial of how much the alumni means to the Raiders organization.
