Candice Ward-Imagn Images

The Las Vegas Raiders’ offseason program went a long way in answering questions surrounding Sin City’s football team. Now, it’s time for The Raider Ramble to go a long way in answering your questions.

It started on April 8th, before this year’s group of rookies heard their names called on draft night, and lasted until June 12th. And finally, after just over two months of different phases, the Raiders’ offseason program at large is over.

The program was responsible for answering several questions regarding the Silver and Black. For our full story on what we learned throughout the Raiders’ offseason program, click here.

Answering your Las Vegas Raiders questions

Q: @blacklv285 – Who do you ultimately think will be the Raiders starting CBs?

A: In my eyes, this is an easy one: Jakorian Bennett and Darien Porter at boundary with Darnay Holmes inside. You can find a full film breakdown on both Bennett and Porter, including what the two offer as a starting duo, here.

I will say, it wouldn’t surprise me if Thomas Harper makes a run for time at slot, but it’s not something I’m predicting. But at boundary, anything that isn’t Bennett and Porter would surprise me at this moment in time–barring no new additions.

Q: @raidersrebel_ – How many carries and yards do you feel Ashton Jeanty can get this year?

A: There’s no real data to pull from here, even with Pete Carroll drafting a running back in the second round or higher four times over his last 11 drafts in Seattle. None of those player’s draft positions are comparable to sixth-overall. That said, I’ll take my best educated guess here.

I’m thinking 15 carries per contest on average is a good number. For perspective, that would equate to 255 carries, equal to the ninth-most in the NFL last season and sixth-most in 2023.

That number may be a little rich for a rookie, especially one who should be used moderately often in the passing game. And, Raheem Mostert; although, realistically, I don’t believe the 33-year-old veteran is taking too many of Jeanty’s carries.

And as for the yardage, let’s go with 1,150–an average of about 4.5 yards per carry. I won’t at all be surprised if the former Boise State superstar surpasses that number, but 255 total carries for 1,150 is a realistic prediction.

Q: vendoleche_ – You dropping another film room session soon?

A: Devin White full film breakdown is on its way!
