The Las Vegas Raiders signed a versatile player ahead of training camp. The Raiders needed competition in their wide receiver room and for their kick and punt return positions.
Tre Tucker is listed as the Raiders punt returner kick returner, per OurLads. Rookie Tulu Griffin is also listed as a kick returner before training camp.
Per a statement by the Raiders, the team signed former Giants special teams player and wide receiver Alex Bachman.
Per Aaron Wilson with Click 2 Houston, the Houston Texans released Bachman in April. He had been with the Texans since the 2022 season. He was used as a returner in Houston:
Bachman signed a reserve future deal after being re-signed to the practice squad after being previously released from injured reserve with an injury settlement with a torn oblique
Bachman, 27, (6-foot, 190 pounds) played collegiately at Wake Forest.
Bachman once led all NFL players with 19 catches during the preseason with the New York Giants. He has return skills and kick coverage ability and has one career punt return for 16 yards last season and four kickoff returns for 94 yards.
The Los Angeles Rams signed Bachman as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He joined the Giants practice squad in Nov. of 2019.
Bachman appeared in four regular season games for the Gaints. He returned one punt for 16 yards and four kickoffs for 94 yards.
