The Los Angeles Rams enter Week 4 dealing with injuries to several key starters. Head coach Sean McVay confirmed Wednesday that wide receiver Davante Adams and right tackle Rob Havenstein will not practice, while left guard Steve Avila will return in a limited capacity.

“LG Steve Avila will be limited in practice today. Rob Havenstein (ankle) and Davante Adams (hamstring) won’t practice today,” McVay told reporters, via Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register.
Greg Beacham of the Associated Press added that Avila will take “about half the reps” and remains uncertain for Sunday. Nate Atkins of The Athletic noted that it’s at least a positive step for Avila, who sprained his ankle in Week 1 and has missed two straight games. Justin Dedich has filled in at left guard during his absence.
Stu Jackson of Rams.com added, “McVay said they’ll take things day-to-day with Adams and Havenstein, but “not expecting it to affect their game status.”
Havenstein, meanwhile, battled through an ankle injury last week against the Titans but struggled in the outing. The veteran right tackle is expected to start again if available.
The bigger spotlight falls on Adams, who is nursing a hamstring issue. Through three weeks, the star receiver has posted 33.3 fantasy points (11.1 per game), ranking 11th among wideouts. He has touchdowns in back-to-back contests, including three catches for 56 yards and a score last week versus Philadelphia.
The Week 4 matchup presents challenges. The Colts enter Sunday ranked eighth in pass defense, allowing just 178.3 yards per game. No receiver has topped 100 yards against them this season, and Indianapolis has surrendered only five receiving touchdowns in three games. Adams is projected for 10.5 fantasy points.
Avila’s return to practice is a promising development for the offensive line, but his game status remains uncertain. Havenstein and Adams will rest midweek, with their availability closely watched as Los Angeles prepares for a tough road test in Indianapolis.
