Latest trade gives Ravens hope of adding dynamic playmaker

The Ravens will certainly be in the market before the Oct. 31 trade deadline to add a player who could help them reach their Super Bowl aspirations in 2023, and the latest trade proves that the addition of a dynamic player could be a reality.

The Titans traded All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Eagles earlier this week, proving they are willing to offload veterans for draft compensation as they plan for the future. That means All-Pro RB Derrick Henry could be available and Baltimore should be calling Tennessee as soon as possible.

Henry is in the final year of his contract and will be owed just $6.4 million for the rest of the season. The Ravens would have to make a corresponding move, but nothing significant as they sit at $6.29 million in cap space, per Over the Cap.

The veteran running back has 425 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season and could be the missing piece in Baltimore's offense after it lost RB J.K. Dobbins to a season-ending injury in Week 1.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old was asked if he wants to go somewhere he can win a Super Bowl.

His response: "I'm here."

It certainly doesn't scream that he wants to remain a Titan and the Ravens would give him one of the better opportunities in the league to get a ring.

Baltimore has also shown it's willing to pay the position at a time when the rest of the NFL seems to feel otherwise because the team was in contract negotiations with Dobbins.

Henry has had his fair share of injuries over the past few years as well, but when healthy, he is still one of the most dominant runners in the league.

What it would take for the Ravens to get Henry is still unknown, but the Ravens traded a second-round pick for LB Roquan Smith last season and that has worked out quite well. Henry may just be the next dynamic player Baltimore adds at the trade deadline.
