Quarterback Jordan Love has already gone through a minor surgery in his left thumb. And, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Tom Silverstein, a source said it went "perfect." Love suffered a ligament injury on his last play against the New York Jets last Saturday.
A source said that quarterback Jordan Love's surgery went "perfect". The #Packers are hopeful he can do some things in practice next week, but his first game action won't be until the regular-season opener.

Love is expected to get back at practice next week and will be good to go in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. However, he won't play against the Indianapolis Colts and Seattle Seahawks in the two remaining preseason games.
"I don't know until he gets back here and we see how he feels. We'll see. Obviously, he'll be out this week, and I'd put it highly unlikely that he plays against Seattle," head coach Matt LaFleur said. "As far as practice is concerned, I can't tell you that at this moment."
Love tried to practice through the injury on Monday, but the team and the player concluded that it would be better to go through the surgery now, since there will be enough recovery time until the regular season opener.
"Hopefully, we'll be able to get them back out in some capacity sometime next week to work on and work through it," LaFleur added. "I've never personally dealt with a situation like this, so there's going to be some learning curve along the way in terms of how we adapt and adjust."
While Love was able to function as a quarterback despite the injury, all the parties felt like the best decision was to protect him.
"He's a pretty positive guy. I'm obviously frustrated because he's going to miss a little bit of time. He doesn't like that, but I think he's very smart," general manager Brian Gutekunst said. "As we walked through this decision, I think he made a really good decision to have this done and get back with us."
Now that the procedure has gone well, Packers fans can breathe. After an injury-rattled season in 2024, the franchise quarterback will be ready to go by Week 1.
