The Detroit Lions' win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday came with a frightening moment late in the game. Injuries are part of football, but some are far more serious than others, and this one left players and fans understandably concerned.
During the fourth quarter, Lions linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a neck injury that required him to be taken to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Following the game, Detroit released a statement confirming that Campbell was resting as he continued to receive medical attention.
Now, the team has issued an update, and while it has some good news, it's also a bit concerning.
On Monday, the Lions took to X to share an update about Campbell. They mentioned that he was resting and recovering but also didn't offer up too much information.
"Jack Campbell continues to rest and recover at a local hospital. Preliminary indications are positive and out of respect for Jack and his family we will not share further information at this time," the statement read.
So, Campbell remains in the hospital as of Monday.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell also addressed the media on Monday. He urged people to keep praying for Jack Campbell.
"It's positive, so your prayers are working," Campbell told reporters. "Please continue to do that. We'll leave it at that, so just continue to pray for him, but it is positive news on Jack."
