The Detroit Lions finished the regular season strong on Sunday, but they had some unfortunate injury news.

Tight end Sam LaPorta suffered a knee injury in Detroit’s 30-20 Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field in Detroit.

LaPorta caught a pass late in the second quarter but hurt his left knee on the play.

The rookie tight end had five catches for 29 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell shared a negative update about LaPorta after the game.

LaPorta is having a monster season for Detroit. Including Sunday’s game, LaPorta has 86 catches for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Detroit has already clinched the NFC North and will be hosting a playoff game next week. But they might not have their star tight end in the lineup for it.
