Lions make multiple roster moves ahead of matchup with the Browns, preseason standout to make NFL regular season debut

The Detroit Lions are back at home on Sunday to take on the Cleveland Browns. Ahead of that matchup, the Lions have made a small handful of roster moves. Including one that Lions fans have been asking for. Here's what they've done

Elevated WR Jackson Meeks from the practice squad

It really felt like Meeks had a very good chance to make the 53-man roster during the summer because he flat-out killed it in the preseason. He was really the big star for Detroit in August. But the Lions wound up not going with him. Now he's going to get a shot to dress in this game and participate on special teams at least. We'll see how much attention he gets on offense, but this is a big deal for the undrafted rookie.

Placed S Daniel Thomas on injured reserve

Thomas had surgery on his forearm earlier this week. This injury happened earlier in the season, and he tried to play with it, but the surgery had to be done, and now the Lions will give him at least four games to heal up. This does open up a roster spot. The Lions chose not to fill it today.
