The Detroit Lions have provided an injury update on linebacker Jack Campbell after Sunday’s frightening on-field incident.
Campbell suffered a neck injury during Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. He had to be taken off the field in a stretcher and immobilized after remaining down for several minutes.
On Monday, the Lions reported that Campbell remains hospitalized, and offered few details on his status. However, preliminary indications after tests are “positive.”
Jack Campbell continues to rest and recover at a local hospital. Preliminary indications are positive and out of respect for Jack and his family we will not share further information at this time.

Campbell was injured on a multi-player tackle in the second half of Sunday’s game. There was serious concern for his well-being, and several Lions players appeared to be on the verge of tears as he was treated on the turf.
Despite the win, the Lions’ injury situation on defense is not good. Campbell’s was an unfortunate accident, but for others, the damage was self-inflicted to a degree.
