Lions Week 7 Pro Football Focus grades, young player keeps getting better every week

The Detroit Lions moved into first place after their 31-29 win over the no longer undefeated Minnesota Vikings. Pro Football Focus has dropped their grades for this game and there's some interesting stuff here.

Highest grade

Brian Branch is just balling out of control right now. His four tackles, two pass breakups and interception got him a 92.7 grade. He earned a 91.2 coverage grade as well. It's a no fly zone with him.

Highs

  • Frank Ragnow 90.1: Ragnow was the only Lions offensive lineman that didn't get flagged on Sunday. That's a small part of his grade. The big part is because he just killed it.
  • Amon-Ra St Brown 88.9: St. Brown had himself a ball game out there. 8 catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. Not bad at all.
  • Trevor Nowaske 87.1: Nowaske continues to keep showing up more and more. This was the best game of his NFL career. The Lions may have finally solved their SAM linebacker problem.

Lows

  • Kayode Awosika 45.6: Not a good day for Awosika. He had three flags in one quarter and then allowed four pressures, three hurries and a hit.
  • Taylor Decker 44.6: Not a good day for Decker either. This was his worst game of the season. He allowed six pressures and a sack. I wouldn't worry too much because he's been having a good year otherwise.
  • DJ Reader 36.9: I'm going to have to go to the film on this one. I don't know what they saw here that made him have such a bad grade. PFF is generally pretty weird about interior defensive linemen grades.
