Logan Ryan Retires From the NFL

New England selected Logan Ryan in the third round (No. 83 overall) in the 2013 NFL Draft. Ryan played his college football for Rutgers. He was teammates on both the Scarlet Knights and Patriots with five players: Devin McCourty, Duron Harmon, Jonathan Freeny, Tim Wright, and Steve Beauharnais.

Ryan appeared in all 74 Patriots games, including the postseason, during his four seasons in Foxboro. He helped New England win Super Bowl 49 and Super Bowl 51. He registered 13 interceptions and four forced fumbles during those four seasons.

The Tennessee Titans signed Ryan in free agency following the 2016 season. He played three seasons for the Titans before making stops with the New York Giants (2020-2021), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2022), and San Francisco 49ers (2023).

During his final season in Tennessee, Logan Ryan intercepted Tom Brady’s final pass as a member of the New England Patriots during the 2019 AFC Wild Card round. He ran it in for a pick-six to clinch the Titans win.

With Matthew Slater retiring this offseason as well, the 2014 Patriots team that won the Super Bowl now has only five players remaining who have yet to retire from the National Football League: Brandon Bolden, Cam Fleming, Jimmy Garoppolo, Duron Harmon, and Chandler Jones.

Logan Ryan retires from the NFL having played in 154 regular season games, 19 postseason games, and three Super Bowls. He won two Super Bowl championships. Ryan also recorded 755 tackles, 19 interceptions, and 13.0 sacks.
