The Los Angeles Chargers have been busy in recent weeks. They've added depth pieces and lost plenty of noteworthy veterans via trade and free agency. Now, they have added another player for their secondary.
The #Chargers are making a key secondary addition, agreeing to terms on a 1-year deal with former #Titans free agent CB Kristian Fulton, sources say. A chance to go out and earn an even bigger payday next year. pic.twitter.com/yxAKvMSstx

He's dealt with multiple injuries in recent seasons and has not proven himself to return to his prior form from early in his NFL career.
In 2021, he looked like an emerging, breakout defender for the Tennessee Titans. Quarterbacks had just a 69.6 passer rating when throwing towards him. He also broke up eleven passes during that season. Meanwhile, in 2023, Fulton allowed a 129.3 passer rating and broke up just two passes. He also had a missed tackle rate of 20.4% - not pretty.
Between his battle with soft tissue injuries and a tough 2023 season, things didn't work out for Fulton in Tennessee. Perhaps a fresh start in LA will be just what he needs to reach his potential. -- Sam Phalen, A to Z Sports
Fulton turned down a few offers in order to join the Chargers. He clearly believes in the staff and roster around him in LA.
Former #Titans CB Kristian Fulton turned down offers from the Bengals, Broncos, and Cardinals to sign with Chargers per source. Fulton goes to LA on a one-year deal.

Regardless, Fulton has to show growth in 2024. With that, he has to stay available. If he accomplishes both of those tasks, he will get a prettier paycheck during next year's offseason.
