The sports world works in funny ways. As a matter of fact, the world actually does, in general. The Los Angeles Chargers got a first-hand experience in Week 3 that makes you consider how intriguing regular season wins can be for a team.
The Bolts took down the Denver Broncos on a last-second field goal by Cameron Dicker, improving to 3-0 on the season after three weeks of play. With the victory, there was a pretty cool connection that plenty of people made. It involves an NFL legend, too.
On a day where they honored former QB Drew Brees, the Chargers also hit a historic mark for their team for the first time since he dawned the Bolts logo. The Chargers are 3-0 after three games for the first time since 2002, and the hype is as high as it has been in quite some time for LA.
Chargers have not gone 3-0 since 2002 when Drew Brees was their quarterback..

This was a Justin Herbert legacy game, man.

Fought off a swarming Broncos pass rush to lead his team to 10 points in the final minutes and seal a 3-0 start not only on the season, but in the AFC West.
Jim Harbaugh has the Chargers 3-0 for the first time since 2002!
Recognizing Brees may have given the Chargers just a tad bit of good fortune, or luck, whatever you believe in more. Keep in mind that Brees spent a massive chunk of his career with the New Orleans Saints, playing for Sean Payton. Of course, Payton is the HC for Denver now.
All of that being said, the impact of this start for Los Angeles is incredibly notable. The three other teams in the AFC West sit at 1-2. Not to mention, all three of the victories for LA are over division foes.
The Chargers are undefeated against three AFC West opponents to start the season for the first time since 1996. That sort of division dominance hasn't been sniffed by the Bolts, but Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff are flipping the script.
We will see if this sort of play can continue for Los Angeles. It wasn't a pretty win in Week 3 against Denver, but that doesn't matter.
They all count the same, and games against division rivals are nearly always tough/close in the NFL. They are the teams that know you best. For the Bolts, they knew just enough about Sean Payton's team to send them packing with another loss.
The last time the Chargers were 3-0 this was their QB1... ⚡️ pic.twitter.com/u9lj63v6Pf
