Sarah Barshop of ESPN has reported that Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Drake Stoops will be suspended for the first two games of the 2025 NFL season. This suspension is a result of a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Barshop further clarified that Stoops will be permitted to participate in all training camp activities and preseason games prior to the commencement of his suspension.
Stoops, 25, joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent from the University of Oklahoma in 2024. He was released at the conclusion of training camp and subsequently spent the entire season as a member of the team’s practice squad. As of now, Stoops has not yet made an appearance in a regular-season NFL game.
In three preseason games in 2024, Stoops caught six passes for 55 yards and three first downs.
He is the son of former Sooners head coach Bob Stoops and nephew of Mark and Mike Stoops.
