One of the LSU Tigers' 2025 commits was compared this week to one of the best players in the NFL.

On Wednesday, Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Marshall Levenson compared several top 2025 recruits to current NFL players.

One of the players that Levenson made an NFL comparison for was 2025 LSU commit Harlem Berry, a five-star running back from Metairie, LA.

Levenson compared Berry to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, a three-time Pro Bowler who has been dominant in the NFL when healthy.

From Rivals.com: Finding an accurate comparison for Berry is an interesting challenge. Looking at the NFL, the easy answer for most dynamic running back is McCaffrey. In the high school ranks, Berry is the answer for most dynamic running back. While the 49ers star playmaker is a bit heavier, the skillsets follow the same lines.

The elusiveness of Berry is undeniable as is the speed and the vision when the ball is in his hands. Berry had 2,080 yards and 37 touchdowns on the ground along with 401 receiving yards and another seven touchdowns on just 20 catches. McCaffrey is known as an elite receiving threat as Berry has proven his worth in that department on the 7v7 scene.

McCaffrey has the ability to take over a game from the running back position, not an easy task in such a passing driven era. Berry's skillset and athletic profile make me believe he can have a similar style at the next level.

That's an exciting thought if you're an LSU fan. McCaffrey had one of the best NFL seasons we've ever seen when he rushed for over 1,300 yards and recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in 2019 for the Carolina Panthers.

It's not reasonable to suggest that Berry will put up those types of numbers at LSU or in the NFL, but seeing him compared to McCaffrey is still incredibly exciting. If Berry can even come close to being as productive as McCaffrey, he'll be a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators in the SEC.

Berry, 5-foot-11/180 lbs, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 overall running back in the 2025 recruiting class. He's also rated as the No. 15 overall player in the nation.
