Many Miami Dolphins Rookies Likely to Start in 2026

The Miami Dolphins’ 2026 roster is comprised primarily of first-year players and some prove-it veterans on one-year deals.

But make no mistake about this team’s trajectory.

Most of the 2026 Miami Dolphins rookie class are projected to be starters and major contributors.

Let’s begin with the wide receivers.

One-year signings of Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell have been underwhelming, and their play is not at the level of starting wide receivers.

So, my prediction is that the Dolphins will have three rookie receivers starting, not necessarily in game one, but for most of the season.

Let’s revisit these players that we should get to know.

Each of these players has had strong training camp performances and has NFL potential.

And with a 2-3-year timeline for building a contending team, it makes complete sense to give these young players the most opportunities to succeed.

Caleb Douglas, a third-round 6’4” wide receiver from Texas Tech.

Kevin Coleman Jr., a late-round pick from Missouri who can contribute as a slot receiver.

Chris Bell, a third-round pick from Louisville, who many consider the steal of the draft, falling in rank only because of an ACL tear suffered in college.

Other rookies who will likely land a starting role or will certainly be in the mix of the starting rotation are:

Kadyn Proctor, an offensive lineman from Alabama who is projected to start at left guard.

Chris Johnson, a cornerback from San Diego State drafted in the first round.

Will Kacmarek, a tight end from Ohio State known for his elite blocking skills.

Jacob Rodriguez, a linebacker from Texas Tech who is known as a ball hawk, is competing with Tyrel Dodson for a starting position.

Kyle Louis, a linebacker from Pittsburgh, is a versatile player who could also play safety.

Trey Moore, an edge rusher from Texas, would have certainly been in this starting group had it not been for his recent ankle injury.

So, let’s allow these young rookies to get their feet wet in the NFL and continue to improve throughout the season.

They will gain invaluable experience heading into 2027.
