Marvin Harrison Jr. Rookie of the Year Award odds

The Cardinals selected Harrison, the son of Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, Sr., with the No. 4 pick in this year’s NFL Draft. He appeared in only one preseason game — Arizona’s opening contest against the Saints — and played three total snaps. Harrison registered no catches and wasn’t targeted. On Sunday, he didn’t play in the Cardinals’ preseason finale, a 38-12 loss to the Broncos. He's been among several projected Cardinals' starters who have been held out of significant preseason action by head coach Jonathan Gannon.

Harrison was one of three wideouts chosen in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft, along with New York’s Malik Nabers and Chicago’s Rome Odunze. Nabers (listed with the fifth-best OROY odds at +1200) and Odunze (+7000) each played more snaps this preseason than Harrison.

Nabers finished the preseason with four catches and 54 yards on six targets. Odunze recorded one catch for 45 yards on three targets.

“Whatever the coaches want me to do, I’m just gonna follow their lead,” Harrison recently told a local Arizona radio station. “I’m just gonna follow their lead and do what’s best for me.” Still, he admitted, “I think I definitely want to play in a preseason game just to get my feet wet a little bit in an actual NFL game.”

Harrison is expected to play a significant role in Arizona’s offense, whose leading receivers last season were tight end Trey McBride (825 yards) and since-departed receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown (574 yards). The Cardinals haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver since DeAndre Hopkins in 2020.

The Cardinals open the regular season against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 8.
