Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers did not have the 2025 NFL season they had hoped for. After finishing the year on a four-game losing streak, the Packers ended with a 9-7-1 record, earning the No. 7 seed in the NFC. However, their postseason run was short-lived, as they fell to the Chicago Bears in the opening round.

Following the disappointing 2025 season, LaFleur has seen the Packers make numerous changes to the coaching staff. After defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley departed to become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay replaced him with former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon. And even with the major defensive coaching overhaul, the Packers have now lost another coach.

Rich Bisaccia began his NFL coaching career in 2002 as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ special teams coordinator. After winning Super Bowl XXXVII with the Bucs, Bisaccia moved around the league, holding several assistant head coach and special teams coordinator roles with teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.

But in 2022, after four years with the Raiders, Bisaccia joined LaFleur's coaching staff, becoming the Packers' special teams coordinator. One year later, he was promoted to Green Bay's assistant head coach, while keeping his special teams job.

And after four years with the Packers, Bisaccia has decided to step down as their assistant head coach and special teams coordinator, leaving LaFleur looking for a replacement once again.

"Packers assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia is stepping down, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero wrote on X. "Bisaccia, 65, had been with Green Bay since 2022. Now, weeks after replacing DC Jeff Hafley, Matt LaFleur needs a new special teams coordinator too."

Amid Bisaccia's decision, LaFleur made a statement regarding his assistant's departure, thanking him for his contributions.

"While we are disappointed to lose a person and coach as valuable as Rich, we respect his decision to step down from the Packers," LaFleur said. "Rich was a tremendous resource to me and our entire coaching staff who had a profound impact on our players and our culture throughout the building. We can't thank him enough for his contributions to our team over the last four years. We wish Rich, his wife, Jeanne, and the rest of their family all the best moving forward."
