Matthew Stafford heard constant stories about the state of his back. With many wondering if the Los Angeles Rams quarterback will be fully healthy for Week 1.

Stafford showed his sense of humor about the stories on Thursday when speaking with reporters. He cracked a joke about being injured.

Except he didn't ridicule his back. Or even brought up the ailment the moment he stepped to the podium. He asked this humorous question.

“You guys all want to talk about this paper cut I got last night opening some mail?" he began. "That’s what I figured. Fire away."

How is the state of Stafford's paper cut? One member of the media obliged to ask.

"Yeah, we glued it up. It felt great," Stafford joked. "Spun it around pretty good. Thanks for asking.”

It became "the update everyone wanted" per the Rams' Instagram page.

A joking Stafford means a healthy Stafford. As it turns out, the "paper cut" didn't limit his throwing ability.

He went deep to Tutu Atwell as the Rams returned to their Woodland Hills headquarters following NFL Training Camp.

Stafford even hit this "dime" to Davante Adams -- a collaboration that'll soon take place on Sept. 7.

Stafford's back rose in front of various news outlets in recent weeks. With reports that the Super Bowl winning QB dealt with lingering tightness and soreness. Stafford even skipped practicing with the Rams during camp held at Loyola Marymount University.

But he looked like his normal self per the Rams team videos -- paper cut and all.
