Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek has recently assembled his first rookie class as a NFL general manager.

The group possesses many intriguing talents, most notably first-round running back Ashton Jeanty. Through the rookie class, fans and analysts alike have been able to make more sense of Spytek’s long-term vision for the Raiders. Now, he is entrusting head coach Pete Carroll to translate that promise into on-field results.

As one of the longest-tenured Raiders and one of the team captains, defensive end Maxx Crosby is expected to take a mentorship role for the young Raiders.

Crosby is excited to share his wisdom with the rookie class of the Raiders.

On the latest episode of “The Rush with Maxx Crosby,” the star pass rusher shared his thoughts on what he hopes to pass along to his new teammates.

“The main thing I try to tell the rookies is just stay level-headed,” Crosby said. “That’s the most important thing because you’re going to have great days, you’re going to have bad days, there’s going to be ups and downs, there’s going to be ebbs and flows, things of that nature. But staying the course and following and being strict and consistent with your routine is going to make those great days be every day.”

Noted for having one of the best work ethics in the entire NFL, Crosby has seen it all throughout his NFL career.

Despite the Raiders’ lack of consistent on-field success during his tenure, Crosby has never wavered in being the best player hee can be. He has taken the time to take many of his younger teammates under his wing, with projected starting center Jackson Powers-Johnson being a notable example this offseason. Now, the Pro Bowler is hoping to do the same with the rookies.

“I’ve talked to [wide receiver] Jack [Bech], I’ve talked to a lot of the young guys. Just stay level-headed. Say less and do more,” Crosby continued. “At this point, you’re a rookie, you’re trying to earn the respect of your teammates. Your mouth and talking about what you’re going to do is not going to do anything for you on the field. The guys respect you by showing what you can do on Sundays.”

Crosby has had to prove himself to reach the success he has enjoyed at the NFL level, and he hopes to instill that drive to succeed in the new crop of rookies.
