Since arriving as a fourth-round draft pick in 2019, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has transformed from an overlooked prospect into the face of the franchise. But Crosby’s popularity extends far beyond the field, as he has become well-loved in Las Vegas.

He may be brash and intimidating on the gridiron with his devil-may-care style, but off it, he is warm and friendly, especially to fans.

It was in full display during his brief interaction with a young girl, who supports the San Francisco 49ers, at a brand event, as shown in the video posted by Vegas Sports Today.

“I literally made a post about you a couple of weeks ago. So I gotta ask for the faithful, will you please join the 49ers?” asked the young girl.

“I can’t. I can’t. Hey, I still appreciate you doing your homework though. You’ll never know. You’re the best,” replied Crosby.

The Raiders shipped the two-time All-Pro to the Baltimore Ravens in March in exchange for two first-round picks. The deal, however, fell through after Crosby, who is still currently recovering from knee surgery, failed his physical exam.

Recently, Crosby has appeared again in trade rumors, according to a report from Sports Illustrated’s Hondo Carpenter, noting that “there is still enormous interest” in the five-time Pro Bowler.

“That doesn’t mean a deal is imminent, or that the team is shopping him, or that he is asking to be moved. It is simply the reality that, with the interest there to the extent it is, it makes it a viable potential subject,” explained Carpenter.

In the meantime, Crosby is trying to be fully ready for the upcoming season with the Raiders.

So, sorry, little girl, the 49ers might need to look elsewhere.
