The Houston Texans currently have the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft and they have plenty of needs. For a franchise that has won just 11 games over the past three seasons, that comes with the territory.
One of Houston's biggest needs is at quarterback, but are the Texans desperate enough to move up just one spot in the draft to get to No. 1, which would ensure that they get the quarterback of their choosing? Long-time NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper certainly thinks its a possibility.
#Texans Fans: In Mel Kiper Jr’s latest mock, he has Houston trading up 1 spot to draft Bryce Young.

The trade package would be similar to the 2017 Mitch Trubisky trade up.

It's worth noting that we know the Chicago Bears, who currently hold the top pick, are open to fielding trade offers. They have a quarterback they likely believe can be the long-term option in Justin Fields. If they can move back just a spot or two while getting a haul in return, that could make sense for a team that also has plenty of needs.
As far as the pick is concerned, Bryce Young is certainly an intriguing option for the Texans. Young was the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner and he's the personification of the modern-day, athletic quarterback.
Young threw for over 8,000 yards and 80 touchdowns (12 interceptions) in largely just two seasons at Alabama. He also rushed for seven scores on the ground.
