Miami Dolphins Face Jets and Tough AFC East Schedule
The Miami Dolphins enjoyed a brief respite from the 2026 NFL season this past week. While most of the league’s 32 teams suited up in Week 6, Miami enjoyed its bye week.
However, the Dolphins’ bye week ends with a road trip to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets on Oct. 25.
The Dolphins’ upcoming bout against New York not only offers the team its first real chance to salvage a win from what has been a lost season, but it also marks the start of a gauntlet of games against fellow AFC East teams.
The Oct. 25 matchup stands out as a winnable game for the 0-5 Dolphins for multiple reasons. For one, the Jets are dealing with their fair share of injuries, namely to running back Breece Hall, who ran for quadruple-digit rushing yards in 2025. Their offense has also been as anemic as the Dolphins’ this season, with only five teams in the league averaging fewer points per contest.
As mentioned, after their outing against the Jets, the Dolphins will face AFC East teams a lot over the next month or so. After Oct. 25, they take on the New England Patriots on Nov. 1. Fast forward to late November, and Miami faces the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 22, then takes on the Jets again on Nov. 29.
This upcoming schedule matters because a victory (or at least a very competitive showing) against the Jets on Sunday could help instill belief in this team before it faces the cream of the crop in the AFC East. Conversely, a string of losses during this stretch would only further confirm that this year was a full-on tank.
