Miami Dolphins ‘Rivalries’ Uniforms Leak One Day Early
There has been a lot of speculation about what the Miami Dolphins’ Rivalries uniforms will look like this season, which the Dolphins will wear when they play the NY Jets in Week 4 on Monday Night Football.
The announcement was scheduled to be released on Thursday, August 28th, at 10:00 a.m., but somehow the information leaked early, and photos were released.
And it appears the leak originated from the Miami Dolphins app, as they were online for a short period.
It’s a black on black look or a navy-on-navy blue look, with a matte black or matte navy helmet, it appears, and the 305 on the front of the helmet to reflect the area code of Miami.
You can see in the photo below, but to be clear, NOTHING IS CONFIRMED UNTIL THURSDAY, AUGUST 28th at 10 am Eastern time.
There had been considerable speculation about what these jerseys would be.
Many felt it might resemble the Miami Vice look, incorporating some hot pink, like the old Miami Vice TV show from the 1980s, or what the Miami Heat wear in the NBA sometimes.
But it appears that will not be the case.
The NFL announced in April that teams from two divisions will wear rivalries uniforms for one home game this year.
“The NFL is home to some of the biggest football rivalries and today marks a historical moment for the NFL as we share ‘Rivalries’ with the world,” said Renie Anderson, chief revenue officer at the NFL. “Together with Nike, we are harnessing the power of rivalry matchups to bring fan excitement and community pride to the next level. Through specially designed player uniforms and limited-edition fan gear, we will embark on a journey that inspires competitive spirit and reveals the winner in all of us.”
The first wave of participating teams hail from the AFC East (Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets) and NFC West (Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks).
