Micah Parsons wasn’t even playing at full strength and was still a man on a mission in his Packers debut Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Battling a back injury, after being acquired by the Packers in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys, Parsons wreaked havoc on Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions by finishing with one sack, and two critical pressures which forced a third down incompletion and an Evan Williams interception.

Afterwards, Parsons opened up about what he was battling, mentally, amid contentious contract negotiations with the Cowboys before arriving in Green Bay.

“These last six months was super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons said, via The Athletic, of his trials with the Cowboys that eventually led to the trade at the end of August. “It’s something that I don’t think (any) player should have to go through …

“The fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough.”

While Parsons only played 34 snaps on Sunday afternoon, his impact was off the charts and it was clear that he is capable of being a disruptive and transformative force along Green Bay’s defense.

“It’s priceless,” an AFC scout told me, of the impact Parsons’ pressure has on all three levels of a defense. “You can be aggressive, knowing the ball is coming out. It also creates off-target throws, too. You saw today how that pressure affected Goff. They couldn’t push the ball down the field.”
