Micah Parsons makes bold promise about Packers teammate

The Green Bay Packers got a glimpse of life with Micah Parsons on Sunday. He was there for 29 of the team's 65 defensive snaps, but he didn't need much more than that to prove that he was a seamless fit for DC Jeff Hafley's schemes.

When he was on the field, the Packers moved Lukas Van Ness to the interior, and he even recorded a sack. That's why, far from being a problem for him, Parsons' arrival might be a blessing in disguise for Van Ness.

At least, that's how the former Dallas Cowboys standout feels. Talking to the media, Parsons predicted that Van Ness would feast by his side this season.

"I’m telling you, I think Van Ness is going to have his best year yet," Parsons said, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN. "I’m going to make sure of it. That guy, he’s a very selfless player, like very selfless. He’s one of them guys that can go anywhere. He plays the run, he does everything. He’s the high-quality player that you just want to be around. I’m going to make sure that guy gets as many plays as possible."

Everybody knows what Parsons can bring to the table. He elevates Matt LaFleur's team to the Super Bowl contender tier. But after watching the major improvements in Hafley's first year as defensive coordinator, his impact will go way beyond the stat sheet.

Parsons acknowledged that it might be a while before he gets up to speed, as he just got to Green Bay and is still dealing with a lingering back injury. Then again, the early returns of this partnership couldn't be more encouraging, and that should be a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.
