Micah Parsons believes his presence on the Green Bay Packers will benefit not only his teammates on the field but also their bank accounts.
In a statement following Packers practice on Thursday, Parsons made it clear what he believes he will bring to Green Bay's defense this season.

“That should mean something to ‘em,” he said of his new teammates. “I’m gonna make them a lot of money. That ball’s gonna come out a whole lot quicker.” pic.twitter.com/v3XQKj68U1
Since being selected 12th overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2021 NFL draft, Parsons has played alongside cornerbacks such as Trevon Diggs (who was All-Pro in 2021 and made the Pro Bowl in 2022) and DaRon Bland (who was an All-Pro in 2023). While Parsons may still be drawing rave reviews from former teammates, it's clear he is focused on what he can bring to the Packers' defense this season in what is expected to be another battle for the top of the NFC North.
After compiling 52.5 sacks across four seasons in Dallas, putting pressure on the quarterback is exactly what the Packers hope Parsons will do this season, especially after signing a four-year, $188 million extension, which made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Although the 26-year-old is dealing with a back ailment, Parsons is reportedly expected to play on Sunday when they host the Detroit Lions.
How much he is on the field remains to be seen, but any pressure he can put on Detroit QB Jared Goff will surely be welcomed by his new teammates, including those in the defensive backfield.
