When the Green Bay Packers added Micah Parsons before the 2025 season via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, many believed that he was the missing piece that could get the team over the hump.

Over Green Bay’s first two games, it looked very much like it, as even a less-than-100-percent Parsons didn’t stop Green Bay from defeating the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders.

In Week 3, the Packers lost to the Cleveland Browns, but that was hardly because of their defense. But in Week 4, the cracks showed in bunches on Green Bay’s stop unit, as Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys lit up the Packers’ defense in a 40-40 tie.

Micah Parsons wants Green Bay to crush the Bengals in bounce-back performance after tie with Cowboys

The letdown performance of Parsons and the Packers on defense against the Cowboys still stings for the four-time Pro Bowler. He wants to get rid of the bad taste of that loss in his mouth, and he intends to do it by stepping up against the Cincinnati Bengals this coming Sunday. Parsons also urged his team to do the same.

“You should be pissed off, like sitting around pissed off,” Parsons said to reporters (h/t Dave Clark of the Cincinnati Enquirer) . “We just gave up 40 points, and we’re talking about we can’t give up 20 and how we shouldn’t lose games. That’s how you lose games. We should be pissed off. We should be ready to come out here and play Sunday regardless of who’s playing and whip some butt. If we’re really dogs. That’s how I look at it. If we really say who we want to be, we should take that (game), how we finished last and we should punish these guys. And we should want to leave a statement. It should be a statement win. It should be a statement on defense. Like I just think it’s a statement. Like these guys should be pissed off because I was pissed off.”

That was quite a message from Parsons, who is already showing leadership qualities with the Packers.

The Bengals have struggled this season, in large part because of the absence of Joe Burrow. And with 40-year-old Joe Flacco expected to start behind Cincinnati’s vulnerable offensive line, Parsons and the Packers’ pass rush appear to have a great outlook in Week 6.
