Many Dallas Cowboys fans did not envision opening their 2025 season without Micah Parsons. The star pass rusher was eager to continue and finish his career wearing the star.
However, his contract demands apparently became a bit too much for owner Jerry Jones. The impasse lasted throughout the offseason, and finally, the billionaire’s comments about Parsons’ agent seemed to blow the lid off their relationship.
Soon, and quite unexpectedly, the 26-year-old was dealt to the Green Bay Packers in return for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and a couple of 1st round picks.
Jones believed it was the best decision for his franchise, days after he was seen spending time with Sherese Parsons, the mother of the now-former Cowboys star.
This trade hurt many fans. They felt the generational talent would stick around and help lead America’s team to a Super Bowl. Even though that hope has been shattered, it seems the pass rusher’s mother has not stopped cheering for the Cowboys.
There will be a smattering of Cowboys gear, including, I am told, and I find this hilarious. Micah Parsons’ mother, Sherese, is already on the premises along with his grandmother. Sherese is wearing Cowboys gear tonight to the game. I heard that.

The NFL Network reporter was informed about this, even though he did not see Sherese Parsons at Lincoln Financial Stadium wearing Dallas Cowboys gear. If this happens to be true, it is possibly a show of solidarity towards her son, who wanted to stay with the franchise.
Whatever his mother thinks about the trade, Micah Parsons has started life with the Green Bay Packers. He might not play in their season-opener against the Detroit Lions, but he is practicing with his teammates.
His pass-rushing skills are exemplary, and due to his efforts up front, the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive backs had a field day going after interceptions and tackles. The star believes he will help the Packers’ secondary similarly.
I’ve never not had a Pro Bowl or All-Pro corner. So that should mean something to them. I’m going to make them a lot of money. That ball is going to come out a whole lot quicker.
Micah Parsons told Ryan Wood
Micah Parsons believes that whenever the opposition looks to throw the ball, he tends to force the quarterback into throwing the ball quicker. That should lead to easy interceptions and deflections.

That way, the Packers’ secondary could end up having a stellar season, which eventually could result in a pretty paycheck down the road. He might have a point, as Trevon Diggs and, most recently, DaRon Bland have found out.
Micah Parsons is now listed as a limited participant ahead of the Packers’ game against the Detroit Lions. He might end up playing, and was asked by reporters about their opponents’ reliance on trick plays.
Trick plays are for people who can’t beat you straight up… They can’t beat you head up, they don’t want to out-physical you, they don’t want to be dominant. It’s a scared tactic.
Micah Parsons’ reply, as captured by Ryan Wood
The Penn State alum believes the Detroit Lions do not have what it takes to beat a team straight up. That is why they resort to trick plays. How much they rely on this season is up for debate, as the person behind those trick plays, Ben Johnson, is no longer with the franchise.
“I’ve never liked Detroit. I’ve never liked them. Even when I was in Dallas.”

Micah Parsons will have no problem fitting in with #Packers. He also calls trick plays a “scared tactic.”

If new offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich follows his predecessor’s playbook, the Lions could turn up the heat on the Packers’ defense. But going by Parsons’ words, if he plays, he will be out there to counter those tricks.
