Micah Parsons Vs. Jerry Jones No-Shows As Dak Prescott Expresses Cowboys Optimism In Oxnard

Ever since the Dallas Cowboys touched down in Oxnard to begin training camp, there have been a couple of things that have been seen every day or close to it.

Both owner Jerry Jones and EDGE Micah Parsons have been constants on or near the practice fields.

Except for on Thursday, when both were glaring absentees, with COO Stephen Jones the lead front office person seen watching practice.

Of course, this sent social media into meltdown with fans thinking that this might mean that Jerry and Micah's agent are ironing out the details of his new contract, and in truth, that was a good bet.

Until it wasn't.

Per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, sources on both sides of the contract saga stated that "nothing is happening," just to give any hope Cowboys Nation had of a resolution a swift kick to the stomach.

If that wasn't enough, NFL Network's Jane Slater also reported that nothing is happening on the Micah contract front, and she also reported that Parsons is still at camp (he would incur a $50,000 per day fine if he were to leave camp now).

There is this, though: QB Dak Prescott is expressing some level of optimism here.

"I'm gonna be optimistic, and 11 is a Cowboy,'' he said. "I’ve got faith in the Joneses and the team, as I do in Micah and his team.

Still, just when we thought that both sides might have been ready to sit down at the table and talk it out like adults, all we have is Dak's hope as it appears that Jerry and Micah both being absent from practice turns out to be nothing more than a coincidence.

And the long, arduous wait for Micah and Jerry to get a deal done continues, as training camp rolls on.
