Michael Thomas might not be done in New Orleans after all

If the writing was on the wall in terms of Michael Thomas' run in New Orleans coming to an end, it's slowly being erased.

The former All-Pro wide receiver expressed a positive reaction after news broke Monday that Derek Carr agreed to sign with the Saints.

While no official word has been mentioned by the team or Thomas as to his status with the team going forward, his post, a likely endorsement of Carr's signing, is the biggest sign that he doesn't plan on leaving.

Sandwiched between his "Thank you Jesus" tweet were two retweets of the news that Carr agreed to join the Saints.

A break-up between New Orleans and Thomas felt inevitable after he missed the final 14 games of the season with a toe injury. It was the third consecutive year Thomas was hampered by injuries after signing a five-year extension following his record-setting 2019.

He finished that season with 149 receptions, the most in a single season in NFL history.

Thomas has 56 receptions, 609 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games since the start of the 2020 season. After the team restructured his deal in December 2022, it felt like the precursor to a divorce.

"New Orleans will likely elect to part with Thomas sooner rather than later while giving him time to find a new team before the start of free agency," CBS Sports reported after the two sides worked on the revised contract.

That trajectory may have changed courses with Carr's signing.
