The Michigan Wolverines have made their presence felt on the recruiting trail in recent days, battling it out for top prospects and coming out with victories.

Michigan's 2026 recruiting class now ranks 7th in the country according to 247Sports.com, which revealed news on a Michigan Wolverines assistant coach on Sunday.

The Wolverines have added significantly to their 2026 defensive line in recent days with the commitments of Carter Meadows, Titan Davis, McHale Blade and Julian Walker.

Now, the man who helped make it all happen is getting his flowers from the well known high school and college football scouting website.

"Michigan DL coach Lou Esposito is now 3rd in 2026 recruiter rankings, per 247Sports.

"He was the primary recruiter for Carter Meadows, Titan Davis, McHale Blade, Alister Vallejo, Tariq Boney and Julian Walker," reporter Alejandro Zuniga wrote on X.

The Wolverines have recruited, developed and coached some of college football's best defensive linemen in the past decade including 2021 Heisman Trophy Finalist and eventual number two overall draft pick Aidan Hutchinson, a native of Plymouth, Michigan who played his high school football at Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan.

This past NFL draft included the selections of Mason Graham by the Cleveland Browns and Kenneth Grant by the Miami Dolphins, both in the first round.

The selections and recent successes are a testament to the Wolverines' ability to develop star players along the defensive front, which has become a trademark of one of the best statistical defensive units in the country in recent years.
