The Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers delayed their marriage until just two months before the 2025 NFL season kicked off following a months-long courtship.

Now, three weeks into the season, the Steelers sit at 2-1 and Rodgers is passing legends in all-time statistical categories. During Sunday's 21-14 win over the New England Patriots, Rodgers added touchdown passes No. 509 and No. 510, pushing him past longtime Green Bay Packers star quarterback Brett Favre.

Rodgers completed 16-of-23 passing for just 139 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. After watching his new quarterback for three weeks, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin revealed Rodgers' performance on the field and leadership in the locker room comes as advertised.

“He certainly has been [what we expected], not only in terms of his play, but in terms of his relationship with the game, how he interacts with teammates, how he loves the preparation process,” Tomlin said in his Tuesday press conference. “All of those things have been double thumbs up, so it’s reasonable to expect the in-stadium performance to mirror that.

“He may be disappointed with how he played last week, but we had an opportunity this week to do something about it. Just watching him day to day, there is not a high level of concern in terms of outcome being what we and he desire.”

Tomlin referenced Rodgers' struggles against the Seattle Seahawks when he completed fewer than 55% of his passes for 203 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Rodgers and the Steelers will now face off against arguably the best defense in the league when Pittsburgh battles the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin on Sunday, Sept. 28. The Steelers and Vikings kick off at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network.
