An old video has surfaced of Ty Law telling an outrageous Mike Vrabel story from their playing days that, in hindsight, doesn’t sound so crazy after all.
Mike Vrabel and the Hall of Fame cornerback were teammates on the New England Patriots from 2001 to 2004. Both played vital roles in New England’s 2000s dynasty, helping the organization win three Super Bowls in their four years together.
Back in Jan. 2024, Law made an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” and shared a bonkers story about Vrabel. Law claimed that Vrabel would bring a flask of whiskey to practices and share it with his teammates. They did this to get prepared for the freezing-cold practices in Foxborough:

Asked about it during an appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” this past January, however, Vrabel claimed the story was false. Vrabel found humor in it but said he never carried a flask in the locker room during his playing days.
It was easy to believe Vrabel’s statement at first. But after this whole scandal with NFL insider Dianna Russini, it’s not crazy to think that Law was actually telling the truth.
After all, new photos just surfaced of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini seemingly kissing at a New York bar back in 2020. If a married NFL head coach in his 40s could do something like that with an NFL insider, who’s to say Vrabel wasn’t wild enough to bring a flask to practices?
On Wednesday night, Vrabel announced he was seeking counseling to address the fallout from the Russini controversy. As a result, he will miss day three of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh on Saturday.
