How This Impacts Jeshaun Jones and the Minnesota Vikings

Jones was just starting to build momentum, as through the first two preseason games, Jones was leading the team with six receptions for 80 yards. He signed with the Vikings back in 2024 and had spent his first two years on the Vikings’ practice squad. 

The biggest factor for Jones was that he had familiarity with Kevin O’Connell‘s scheme already and would be set to be a developmental depth option. However, the suspension creates availability concerns.

On top of that, Jones was in an uphill battle as Justin Jefferson , Jordan Addison, and Jauan Jennings had the top three spots set, and Jones was fighting with Tai Felton and Myles Price for the next spot. 

With him now being set to miss time, that would make Jones the sixth wide receiver on the depth chart, if Minnesota even decides to carry that many. He can hope his preseason production proved enough, but his battle just became more complicated.
