MNF comes to Chicago, and the Bears are kicking off a new chapter with Caleb Williams under center and Ben Johnson calling the shots. The kid’s got swagger, the city’s got hope, and tonight, they’ve got a score to settle.

Because rolling into town are the Minnesota Vikings: 14 wins last season, a roster stacked with talent, and a rookie quarterback in J.J. McCarthy. With Sam Darnold, Kevin O’Connell and company swept the Bears last year, dropped 60 points on them, and haven’t looked back since. But this is a new era for both teams, as it should be a classic NFC North battle.

Lock of the Game

Justin Jefferson

Minnesota Vikings

Chicago Bears

$7.8K DraftKings, $8.8K FanDuel

It seems Jetty is good to go after dealing with a hamstring in training camp, and with Jordan Addison out due to suspension, he is the obvious lock for this game. Along with a new quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, he’s the safest bet on paper. Jefferson has a sweet matchup, especially if Jaylon Johnson is out since he’s questionable for Monday night. It’s hard to predict if the Vikings will be as pass-heavy as last year, but still, if anyone is going off, its Jefferson.

Start ‘Em

D.J. Moore

Chicago Bears

VS.

Minnesota Vikings

$6.1K DraftKings, $6.2K FanDuel

The way to beat this defense is the screen game. Moore’s better games last year were against this team, as he thrives off the screen game. While Rome Odunze could step into a bigger role, this should be a D.J. Moore game as any this year. He could also take a few handoffs to help out the run game and give him another chance to score with Ben Johnson’s creative usage likely showcased for Monday night against Flores, who he’s had success with on the Detroit Lions.

T.J. Hockenson

Minnesota Vikings

AT

Chicago Bears

$4.6K DraftKings, $5.6K FanDuel

Hock is back and fully healthy, as he could be the safety valve tight end for McCarthy to rely on in the middle. With Bears linebacker T.J. Edwards also potentially out, this makes the matchup more enticing for the Vikings veteran to come back to form as a solid top 6-9 tight end in the NFL for fantasy when healthy.

Sit ‘Em

D’Andre Swift

Chicago Bears

VS.

Minnesota Vikings

$5.9K DraftKings,

I expect Roschon Johnson and even rookie Kyle Monangai to mix in, as this is a bad matchup on the ground against Brian Flores’ run defense for Minnesota. In both matchups last year, Swift was mostly inefficent and won’t be the reason why they win at home. It will come through the air, as Caleb Williams will have to step up as a passer, along with executing Johnson’s scheme against Flores’ exotic blitzes.

Colt Kmet

Chicago Bears

VS.

Minnesota Vikings

$3.3K DraftKings, $4.9K FanDuel

With the Bears drafting rookie tight end Colston Loveland, that put Cole Kmet in the backseat. While I don’t expect massive returns from Loveland early, it does cut into Kmet’s snaps, as Chicago will likely mix up more heavy personnel and may use the rookie more as a slot receiver than true tight end to have both on the field. Either way, its unclear what the target and snap share looks like with both of them in this Ben Johnson offense.

Fade of the Game

Aaron Jones

Minnesota Vikings

AT

Chicago Bears

$5.5K DraftKings, $6.6K FanDuel

While veteran Aaron Jones is still the starter and played well vs. the Bears run defense both times last year, they did add talented young back Jordan Mason via trade. While he will be a backup or actually someone that can compete for the starting role is unclear. It may not matter if they go more run-heavy this year with a inexperienced quarterback with McCarthy.

But at least early in the season, its more likely they split close to 50-50 or 60-40 to keep both backs fresh throughout the season. This will be against a different different, as Matt Eberflus’ defense was gouged on the ground in both matchups. I do like Jones more then Swift but lean more towards the receivers or tight ends for this game.
