The New England Patriots made a lot of noise in the early days of free agency with key signings.
Many key signings during the legal tampering process and the first day of the new league years are older veterans. One of those signings is former New York Jets offensive tackle Morgan Moses, who will likely start the 2025 season at right tackle for New England.
At 34, Moses doesn’t have many more years to hold down some of the league’s best pass rushers. Instead of choosing an instant playoff team, Moses chose to sign with a team that finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 4-13.
It takes a lot of hype and belief that a 4-13 team can turn it around and become a legitimate playoff contender. The Patriots needed to make great pitches for veterans to buy in and join the team outside joining for the team’s luxurious salary cap space.
Newly signed Moses talked about the pitch to join the Patriots led by new head coach Mike Vrabel.

“I know the question is coming about what was the pitch of coming here, but when you got a guy like coach Vrabel man, you don't need a pitch. You don't need a miracle to win football games, you just need the right people in the building. Obviously with coach Vrabel is here, we got the right people.”
The Patriots have certainly improved their roster at most of the key position units. They also possess a young quarterback in Drake Maye that they believe in. They also have a much-improved new coaching staff.
Finally, New England has a chance to improve their roster even more with the 2025 NFL Draft coming up, especially with the No. 4 overall pick.
