Myles Garrett Reveals Special Meaning Behind Gesture on Sunday

Myles Garrett shared the meaning behind a small but eye-catching gesture before the Cleveland Browns faced the Chicago Bears.

Speaking to the media, Garrett explained the writing on his pregame tape. He said it was a message for his Japanese fans.

"I kinda let 'em down last time, and they asked me what I had on my tape last week, so," Garrett said.

Garrett wanted to make it right. Now, the message reflects how he views himself on the field.

"On my left hand is Godzilla. On my right is King of the Monsters. That's what I think I am." Garrett said.

The gesture matched Garrett’s play this season. Even in a tough year for Cleveland, he continues to deliver elite production. Garrett recorded four solo tackles, one sack, and a defensed pass in the Week 15 loss to Tennessee. His sack came late in the second quarter on a nine-yard takedown.

That play pushed Garrett into rare company. He became the 13th player in NFL history to reach 20 sacks in a season since the stat became official. With four games left, he has a real chance to break the single-season record of 22.5 sacks. He has posted at least one sack in seven straight games.

Cleveland’s season has gone in the opposite direction. The Browns sit at 3-10 and last in the AFC North. Offensive issues have plagued them all year. The team ranks near the bottom in scoring and yardage, placing constant strain on the defense.

Despite that, Garrett remains the centerpiece. He leads the league in sacks and continues to force offenses to adjust. While the Browns evaluate for the future, Garrett’s performance stands as a symbol of pride. His message, like his play, was clear and personal.
