Netflix is set to stream the NFL's Christmas Day games this 2024 season, and the media giant is certainly going all-out.
On Tuesday, Netflix announced its star-studded lineup of hosts for its coverage of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens games on Christmas. Drew Brees, Robert Griffin III, JJ Watt, Laura Rutledge, Mina Kimes, Kay Adams and Melanie Collins are just some of the popular names who were included in the lineup of 22 media personalities.
While the NFL was hyped about the announcement, even commenting, "It's a party," in the post, not everyone felt the same way.
Several fans couldn't help but roast Netflix, primarily because of the bad reputation it has built when it comes to streaming sports. To recall, the company faced backlash during the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight because of the frequent issues during the stream of the bout.
"Can we get a practice run?" a commenter said. Another one shared, "Netflix. I am begging you to please get the live connection together before Christmas!!!!"
"Great, no football on Christmas day. Just a loading screen," a follower further stated.
A critic shared, "Netflix I think you’ve proven you can’t handle live shows."
"The buffering gonna make everybody miss quarters 2-4," a fifth Instagram user wrote.
Meanwhile, others wondered why Netflix had to bring several hosts when there are just two games.
"You guys know there’s only 2 games right," a confused fan shared.
"I thought they had 1 game. how are all these people gonna fit into one broadcast?" a social media user shared.
Another one wrote sarcastically, "Maybe add a few more people. Not enough on this graphic."
It remains to be seen if Netflix has finally resolved its streaming issue, but sure enough, there will be plenty of eyes on the platform come Christmas.
