The NFL's doubleheader on Christmas Day will be streamed exclusively on Netflix. Although we're roughly three weeks away from those games taking place, the network has not yet finalized who'll be part of its studio show.
Initially, there were reports about Kay Adams being Netflix's top target. There's no official word on her role for the Christmas Day games. That being said, it appears Netflix also has interest in ESPN analyst Mina Kimes.
According to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Netflix is "targeting" Kimes for a role in its studio show. She'd be a great fit considering her experience on "NFL Live" every Monday through Friday.
Would ESPN allow Kimes to be part of Netflix's coverage? Apparently, the answer is yes.
"While a deal hasn’t been finalized, a source said ESPN would give Kimes the network’s blessing if it’s something that she ultimately wants to do," Glasspiegel wrote.
Kimes has become a star for ESPN over the past few years. If she agrees to work with Netflix, that'd be quite the get for the streaming giant.
As for the Christmas Day schedule, Netflix landed two intriguing AFC matchups. The action starts at 1 p.m. ET with the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. Then, the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans will square off at 4:30 p.m. ET. As of now, all four teams are projected to make the playoffs. Things could change over the next three weeks though.
Netflix could become a consistent streamer for the NFL depending on how Christmas Day goes. We all saw in the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight how tough it could be to stream live content.
