The Denver Broncos, during their mandatory offseason minicamp, made a roster move that will be a huge help for the offense. Denver added former Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins and the Broncos agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $5.25 million for the 2025 season. The Broncos bolstered their running back room further by adding Dobbins and created a much better room for Bo Nix heading into year two.
During his first appearance at Broncos minicamp, Dobbins broke his silence on his decision to sign with the team. Zac Stevens of DNVR shared Dobbins' first comments on why he came to Denver.
J.K. Dobbins said it was a “no brainer” to sign with the Broncos.

"I felt like it was the best fit for me," Dobbins said. "Defense is really good, like super good. Quarterbacks amazing. I like the RB room. O-line is amazing as well. It was a no-brainer."
Dobbins' choosing Denver was a "no-brainer" for Dobbins, but it's also a no-brainer for the Broncos. With a rookie RJ Harvey leading the running back room, having another competent backup will be huge for the Broncos.
While Audric Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin can be solid role players, neither is the best fit as a number two running back in Denver. Dobbins is a great fit and a perfect complement to Harvey in the backfield.
Dobbins continued with his praise of the team, focusing on the coaches and also the fans.
"Coach Sean Payton, and all the other coaches on the staff, too," Dobbins said. "So I know I'll get coached well here. I also heard that it's a good fanbase. So, that's why I'm here."
The decision from Dobbins to come to the Broncos was a "no-brainer" for the 26-year-old running back. Coming off a career-best season where he ran for 905 yards and nine touchdowns, Dobbins decided to leave the Chargers and stay in the division, signing with the Broncos.
