The New Orleans Saints surprised plenty of folks when they locked down tight end Juwan Johnson on a multi-year contract extension. It was a three year, $30.75 million contract for Johnson, who was a free agent.

With the guarantees involved, two of those seasons are guaranteed from a money perspective for New Orleans. They clearly believe in Johnson's value for their offense and hope he continues to develop.

The Saints starting tight end is involved with the program this year. It's the fifth year of the event, and tight ends from around the league jump in to try to improve their skillset and mental game going forward in the pros.

Founded in 2021 by NFL Tight Ends George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen, Tight End University was created to bring the Tight End community together for an immersive three-day program. Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more. In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game. -- Tight End University

I like this move by Johnson plenty. He's not settling for his current talent or potential simply because he just got a shiny, new contract. Instead, he is still pushing his limits and looking to get better as a player in the NFL with even more upside than he has shown so far in his career.

With Kellen Moore, expect to see Johnson used plenty in the passing game. Don't be surprised to see more two tight end formations in this offensive scheme as well.

Fellow Saints TE Michael Jacobsen is also a part of the program this year, according to Nick Underhill. He is fighting for a roster spot on Kellen Moore's offense.
