The New York Giants square off with a familiar foe in the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
New York already desperately needs a momentum-building game, and sadly, they're faced with a franchise they have failed to play well against. Over the course of the last five years, the Giants are 1-9 when facing Dallas.
In Week 4 of 2024, the Giants stumbled through a 20-15 loss to the Cowboys. Then on Thanksgiving, they fell 27-20 with Drew Lock as the starting quarterback. As Dallas also needs to recover from their own Week 1 loss, this game will require attention to detail from New York.
For Giants fans wondering how to watch Sunday's game, it will be viewable across most of the country on FOX. Per 506 Sports, the game will be on FOX in most of the Northeast, South, and portions of the Southwest.
Because of the Cowboys' fan footprint, this game will dominate TVs in most of the country. The only pockets that won't are the Northwest, California, and the pocket of area around Louisiana.
The most important storyline that has dominated the attention of Giants fans is whether rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart will play. Head coach Brian Daboll addressed the issue on Monday by declaring Russell Wilson as the starter for Week 2.
Even with Wilson starting, it doesn't remove the possibility of Dart entering the game in specific packages. It was reported last week, before the Commanders' game, that the Giants added specific packages for Dart to contribute.
Considering the horrendous offensive performance in Week 1, Dart stepping in at some point feels more likely. Additionally, fans should watch for Dart to straight-up finish the end of the game if the offense continues to sputter.
Another storyline fans should track is if rookie Abdul Carter's role increases in Week 2. With a rotation of rushers, it made it difficult for Carter to contribute heavily against Washington. This game could be an opening for him to play more.
Lastly, Giants fans are praying that their offensive line improves. There shouldn't be an unexpected overnight transformation of the unit, but the group has to show signs of progress. They were a significant liability in Week 1, allowing 22 pressures on Wilson. The status of star left tackle Andrew Thomas remains uncertain, but his involvement would be integral for the offensive line's improvement.
