The New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs face off on Sunday in a Week 3 matchup at MetLife Stadium. Both sides have started the new season at 0-2 and are in dire need of a win. One team will secure its first victory of the campaign while the other will find itself in an undesirable 0-3 hole early on.
The Giants are hoping that it’s them who come out on top on Sunday. On Wednesday, the team made a couple of roster moves ahead of the matchup against Patrick Mahomes and Co.
According to Dan Salomone, the senior managing editor of the team’s official website, the Giants have signed rookie cornerback LaMareon James to the practice squad, while also opting to release CB Dee Williams.

James, who spent his senior year with TCU last season following a three-year stint with Old Dominion, went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. His arrival does not necessarily mean that he will take the field against the Chiefs on Sunday. Rather, this move appears to be geared towards adding more depth in the secondary.
Williams, on the other hand, was not able to make his Giants debut after signing with the practice squad during the offseason. Despite being released on Wednesday, however, the 25-year-old could still be in the mix for New York, with a possibility of the Giants re-signing him somewhere down the road.
New York is coming off a disheartening 40-37 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. They came agonizingly close to winning their first game of the season, but they came up just short against a determined Dallas side.
The Giants are now looking to get off the mark against the Chiefs, who, for their part, will do everything in their power to make sure that New York remains winless after Week 3.
